Silvan at seven weeks

Silvan turned a corner this week. He has a whole vocabulary of gurgles and pterodactyl screeches, and chats with me in the mornings over coffee. He is more often awake, alert, talking and watching than he has been. His company is delightful.

Silvan at six weeks

My folks came back to visit again this week, and Silvan seemed to recognize them. We spent some time wandering around Nashville and visited the farm.

Silvan at five weeks

This week, Silvan was smiling, gurgling, and trying out his new sounds. He can trill and squeak, and he really enjoys doing so.

We are enjoying dressing him up-- here, as a tiny Roman emperor.

Silvan's Aunt Ann visits

Last weekend, Silvan met his Aunt Ann for the first time. Ann is Bruce's sister and lives in Baltimore. We all sat on the porch, drinking beer and watching the chickens. Ann agreed that Silvan is lovely and sweet-smelling.
